Another sign of spring: the Fly Creek Cider Mill in Fly Creek opens for its 153rd season on Friday, April 3, and will offer an expansion of its popular “Taste of Fly Creek” series, which showcases selected specialty foods as well as daily samples of more than 40 products.

Opening weekend will focus on Palatine Valley Dairy, a Pride of New York producer, and its fresh cheese curds.

The Palatine people say their plain curds are the most popular but they also offer curds seasoned with horseradish, jalapeno peppers and garlic and herb spices. Full StoryCooperstown Hotels

Review Comment Sampling . . .

Don’t miss out on this awesome place ‎ – Rob‎ – Fly Creek Cider Mill is an awesome place to visit near Cooperstown. On our last trip to Cooperstown we went to the Mill and we absolutely loved it. The kids loved it and my wife and I both loved it. We plan to go back often and shop online now regularly for their fudge and cider.

What a great family fun place for everyone. They have a cider mill that you can tour, a great gift shop with just about everything in it – Christmas decorations, . . . Karen P

Free lunch! . . . yummy, lots of free samples. . . Go hungry and graze your way through the gift shop. In addition to the gourmet foods . . .

The shop is extensive and the sampling is great. However, my favorite thing was the strange ducks and geese that abounded, and feeding the flock. . .

‎ . . . well worth the trip. . . ‎

The BEST cider mill!!‎ – This place is awesome!! Hubby and I took a drive to Cooperstown over the weekend, and felt the need to stop to Fly Creek based on reviews that we read . . .‎

Great place to visit, shop.‎ The Fly Creek Cider Mill is an interesting, historic place to find excellent food & craft items. I recommend the cheese, fudge, cider, pies. . .

Fly Creek Mill is Terrific. Been coming here for years, this place is great! Sits out in the country a bit but close to town of Cooperstown, in small residential type area, is old country store. . .

We visited your facility in July and loved it! We enjoyed the fruits of the farm pie, visiting your gift shop and feeding the ducks. My daughter and I were very impressed at the cleanliness and amenities of the restrooms. Thank you for a lovely afternoon and may you have many more years of welcoming guests that will come away as pleased as we were

* Averages are of the most recent ten reviews.
** Great to Bad Ratio gives the ratio of five and four reviews versus the one and two reviews. If the ratio is more than one to one that is considered Very Good. This takes into account that on average the mad people will be more likely to complain than the happy people are to say the hotel was nice, but not by much more than a 1 to 1 ratio since many of the five reviews are owners and friends of owners, while many of the 1 reviews are competitors and friends of such. If as many people give great reviews over those who gave negative reviews, then the score is Good to Very Good.
