Cooperstown Rotary AppleFest: The Mill’s most popular festival featuring Music, Antique Tractors, Apples and Family Fun hosted by the Cooperstown Rotary Club and sponsored by regional businesses. The festival welcomes apple lovers, antique and classic tractor enthusiasts, and families to the Fly Creek Cider Mill to enjoy live music, sponsors’ exhibits, a tractor show and children’s games. Sponsorship opportunities are available through Rotary at 607-547-4149. Hours are 10 am to 5 pm Saturday and 12 to 5 pm Sunday, donation fee, free parking.

Taste of Fly Creek – Apple Salsa Day: Join Salsa Bob in a special focused tasting of the Mill’s most popular condiment, Apple Salsa. This tomato-based salsa blends just the right amount of peppers and herbs with sweet New York apples to create a salsa that is perfect with chips or as a topping for burgers. Recipes and promotions are available. Sampling hours are 10:00 – 4:00.

Food at the farm; Saratoga Race Course barbecue

Gourmet Food BasketsSaturday and Sunday, August 30 & 31, the Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard will continue its Taste of Fly Creek Series with products from Ohio’s Robert Rothschild Berry Farm.

Chef Tom Eriksen will prepare a tasting of Rothschild’s Buffalo bleu cheese dip, blackberry honey mustard pretzel dip, Asian sesame grill sauce and artichoke dip. All products are easy to prepare and make a wonderful presentation at parties.

Chef Tom’s sampling hours will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. The Mill is open every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. No registration is necessary and parking is free.

Pressing season starts this Saturday. Cider-making demonstrations on the Mill’s vintage 1889 Bommer and Boucher Press by Jack Stanton and Duane Shepard can be observed from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Here’s a New York Traveler Post about Fly Creek Cider Mill…

Not too long ago, we took a jaunt to Cooperstown. Along the route is a wonderful little cider mill, with a homey, small-town, small-business atmosphere. The cider mill is in Fly Creek, NY, a tiny little hamlet nestled between the glorious Upstate hills. It’s a very, very small area. Believe it or not, Fly Creek is on the map. Just don’t blink going through, or you’ll miss it.
